Life insurance can be so confusing. There's low cost life insurance, that's fine, but if you have no spare money it doesn't matter how low the cost is it can be difficult to fund. It's not something someone on a low income would realise they needed, especially younger people, until they come to a time when they would have needed to make a claim.

There are many online comparison sites where you can compare the low cost life insurance that would be the right one for you. The problem with them can be that you have to have the time and the patience to check them all for the best deals and then, maybe, you need to check out other low cost life insurance sellers to make sure their deal isn't any better than the hundreds which were on the comparison sites.

Sometimes low cost life insurance may not have the coverage you need. If you're a steeplejack by trade you will probably need a more expensive insurance that covers the sort of risks an office worker is very unlikely to face.

Your hobbies could have an effect on the cost of your insurance too. There's a lot less risk in collecting stamps, philately, than there is in exploring caves, spelunking, ( I think that's how you spell it but my spell check hasn't read the word before), so obviously you would need different types of cover.

I can be quite prone to pondering and I've often wondered if soldiers can get life insurance, especially during war time or when they are sent out to wars no-one wanted. Do their families have to rely on what the government think is enough to cover the cost of a life or can they get life insurance to cover them against being maimed or killed in wars? Enough of that, one of the more depressing ponderings of mine.

On a lighter note, if you're loved one comes back and haunts you, is their life insurance payout forfeited? Can they haunt you if they've been cremated?

I recently told my daughters I wanted a coffin made from eucalyptus wood and wanted to be cremated. I told them they would all have to wait wherever they were until the coffin burned, this would be long time as eucalyptus wood doesn't burn. That would serve them right for continually moaning that I was too slow at everything.

Enough for now, think carefully about getting any type of insurance and don't be fooled into thinking having no insurance is a good way to save money.
